Ava!!!!!
My husband and oldest son have been talking about getting another dog for a couple of months now. Our beagle/terrier mix, Sox (or Soxie) could really use a companion. She really likes other dogs and wants to play. So that's where this idea came about.
Ava is all beagle and we got her from the TLC Animal Shelter in Homer Glen. The kids wanted a puppy, but I was leaning towards Ava because she is between 1 and 2 and already housebroken. When we got there, and took the 2 dogs out in the yard at the shelter to get to know each other, I wouldn't say it would was love at first sight for them. They just kinda didn't acknowledge each other. But it was love at first sight for us. Ava is very sweet and loving. She recently had a litter of puppies and her puppies had all been adopted out. She is just perfect for our family.
As of right now, her and Sox have continued to coexist without any problems. She has a vet appt. tomorrow so hopefully we can get a little more information about her approximate age, and how long ago she gave birth. I'll update soon!
I absolutely adore beagles. She is so cute! Seems like a great addition for your fam.

ReplyDeleteAva is really cute. I am an absolute beagle fan, having had two in the family when I was younger. I love their cheeky nature. I will have a beagle of my own one day.

ReplyDeleteThanks girls! Ava does have some health problems - but should be right as rain soon. both ears are infected and she has a parasite. So lots of meds for about 10 days and she should be good. She has been kinda lethargic but I'm sure I would be too if I had ear infections in both ears. Both dogs are still getting along fine. :)
